PRODUCER: Owners of the Château Lynch-Bages since 1939, over the generations, the Cazes family has spread its viticultural wings and developed a model brand of tourism that is steeped in a tradition of hospitality. From the Ariège mountains to the vineyards of the Mèdoc and elsewhere.
WINEMAKING: Fermentations take place at high temperatures (up to 28 °C) for the first four days with frequent ‘rack and return’, pumping over and long macerations periods (from 20 to 24 days). This gives the wines their outstanding concentration, fleshiness and smooth texture. Wines are aged in French oak barrels before being bottled at the domaine in Spring of the second year following the harvest.
TASTING NOTES: Powerful, generous and elegant, L’Ostal Cazes-Estibals is the very expression of the great wines of the Languedoc. With a strong purple colour, it offers aromas of garrigue scrubland, morello cherries and blackberries. On the palate, the tannins are present in very fine grain accompanied by an understated oakiness.
