Applications For Black 4″ Double Jacket Discharge Hose NH-NST Aluminum Fittings
The double jacket polyester discharge hose has a working pressure of 250 PSI making it tough enough for most users. It’s constructed from the same material as fire hose and has a wide variety of industrial & residential applications. Users most often choose standard discharge hoses over fire hoses for the cost savings since most users will not be using hoses for fire fighting purposes. Discharge hoses aren’t certified for firefighting. Use it for all other applications:
- Heavy Industrial Projects (Irrigation • Construction • Chemical • Oil • Manufacturing • Washdown)
- Residential & Commercial (Fire Hydrants • Water Pumps • Drainage • Standpipes • Testing)
- Special Industry (Marine • Shipping • Mining • Military • Drilling • Decontamination)
- Government (Military • Infrastructure • National Parks)

Compatibility Overview
NH (NST) stands for National Hose (National Standard Thread). NH (NST) is a fire hose thread which is the most common fire hose fitting in the USA. When dealing with NH (NST), you should remember a few simple rules:
- NH (NST) is only compatible with NH (NST) and will not fit straight pipe threads.
- USA fire hydrants usually are fitted with NH (NST) fittings.
- USA fire departments usually choose NH (NST) fittings.

Polyester Material Advantages
- Polyester discharge hoses never need drying and can be stored wet. They are 100% immune to mildew and rot and can be stored for extended periods of time.
- Treated polyester material handles abrasion extremely well. Hoses are suited to be deployed and rolled up daily without needing constant replacements.
- Polyester hoses have no toxic chemical exposure as opposed to PVC plastic hoses which contain high amounts of water contaminants. Keep your communities free of unnecessary chemicals.
- Lightweight, flexible, strong, and kink resistant are the best attributes of using polyester hoses.
- Aluminum hose couplings are lighter than brass and 3x stronger and highly anti-corrosive.
Differences Between Single & Double Layered Discharge Hoses
The difference between single and double jacket hoses is the layers. Simply put, double the layers means double the strength and double the lifespan. Single jacket hoses contain a single layered polyester jacket with a rubber liner, and a double jacket hose has an extra layer of polyester pulled over it making it double the thickness. Both have their advantages.
- Single jacket discharge hoses are suitable when you need a lighter weight and more economical hose that can still handle tough jobs. The working pressure is 150 PSI which can handle regular street pressures.
- Double jacket discharge hoses are built for long term heavy abrasion. They have double the life of a single jacket hose and have a great working pressure of 250 PSI.
